A fund that runs administration and asset management in-house plays the PUO role and parts of the VB roles at the same time. The standard still applies: the messages run between the internal administrations or to the external investment administrator and fiduciary. If the fund fulfils the BA role itself, it also sends messages 10 and 14 (issue #142).
Fix the roles per message internally too, so a later outsourcing does not change the interface.
DNB pays extra attention to self-administering funds without proven Wtp software; a validated message flow is evidence of control.
