How this knowledge base is made: from SIVI's official JSON schemas, with build-time validation of every sample, bilingual, with attribution and a fixed refresh cycle per SIVI release.
Source and method
The pages about messages, entities, attributes and code lists are generated from the JSON schemas of the VB-PUO standard as SIVI publishes them on GitHub: Release 2026 (v1.3.1, schema 001.04) and the pre-release of Release 2027 (v1.4.0, schema 001.05). Descriptions of attributes and codes are copied verbatim from those schemas. The sample messages are SIVI's official samples where they validate against the current schema, and otherwise messages generated by WTP Data Lab; every sample is validated with AJV against the schema and code lists of the relevant release when the site is built. Explanations, rules, pitfalls, error descriptions, processes, roles, terms and translations are by WTP Data Lab and are based on SIVI's manual, release notes and GitHub issues.
Attribution and licence
Source: SIVI – VB-PUO Standard. Schemas, attribute descriptions and code lists are taken unchanged from the VB-PUO Standard (owned by the Pensioenfederatie, managed by SIVI) and shown with their release and version. Explanations, examples, error descriptions and translations are by WTP Data Lab and are not part of the standard.
The standard is owned by the Pensioenfederatie; SIVI provides substantive and administrative management. Use is freely permitted, including commercially, provided the standard is not changed in substance outside the formal change process and with the attribution "Source: SIVI – VB-PUO Standard" and mention of the version. This knowledge base does not change the standard and shows release and schema version on every page.
Updating
SIVI publishes a pre-release at the end of June and a final release at the end of September every year. At every release this knowledge base is regenerated: new schemas, new code lists, new diff pages and revalidated samples. Interim changes from the GitHub issues are incorporated in the explanations.
Who
This knowledge base is maintained by the team behind WTP Data Lab, the platform pension administrators and asset managers use to create, validate, visualise and exchange SIVI VB-PUO messages. We implement the standard ourselves and track every SIVI release. Contact.
